Kathy’s Korner
Sept.
17th 2009
On Oct. 1st it will be one year
in Ireland. It seems as if I have always
been here. The Lord has made this country
and I fit together like a hand in glove. The
ladies and I have gotten along so well right
from the start, and I have always felt
needed. I need to be needed, because that is
who I am, a servant and woman who desires to
be needed.
Sometimes I can’t believe how God is using
me. Another thing is how He has fulfilled my
heart’s desire in so many areas; the church,
where I live and my house. The Lord has not
only met our needs but gave me the desires
of my heart.
The
children are doing well in the U.S. Our
daughter Heather is in her new home and she
is so happy with it. Her husband has a good
job and takes great care of her and our
grandson; Duane Jr. Heather is very involved
in her church and so is her husband Duane.
They are being taught the word of God and
growing and in return they are teaching the
bible to children. The two of them are being
sponges; soaking it in and wringing
themselves out. As for my son he is not
saved yet, but his heart is softening, and
he is slowing down, and will be wonderfully
saved someday.
I want
everyone to know about the house Dan and I
have just moved into. The Lord has answered
my prayer for a house of which I had made
known to many people when we were on
deputation. Leaving our children, grand
children, home and country was a great
hurdle. When we got to Ireland God gave us a
home in an estate and we were very content.
The however opened a door to move into the
country just 10-15 minutes from Ballincollig
in a place called Agharina, Dripsey. The
Lord enabled us to rent a large house with a
big kitchen and living room. I can cook and
people can rest and we can enjoy the
fellowship. Though a big bedroom was not a
concern God seemed to answer more abundantly
than I could think or ask. He gave us four
bedrooms and three baths. Dan is so happy he
doesn’t have to share a bathroom with me
now.
Now
when the family comes or missionaries, and
groups we can put them up in our home. The
price didn’t change for the rent so it was a
real blessing from the Lord. I believe God
gave us this house because He trusts us to
do the same things we did with the first
house but now on an even bigger scale. I
think God knows we are His servants and want
Him to get the glory. So, whoever wants to
come we are here.
The
Lord has really given me a heart for the
teens. I want to help them not go through
what I went through as a young mother. Pleas
keep praying for us because God is
answering. Some of the women in church call
me mom, and you know what, it is wonderful.
As a mother whose children are far away it
helps me from missing them so much. As I
said before when I arrived I was feeling
sorry for myself, because I didn’t
understand why God wanted leave my children
behind. You see I didn’t always do right
before so when I got saved I wanted to be
the best mom and grand mom. After I arrived
I realized there were other women in the
same boat as me in that Ireland wasn’t their
home country and they had left families too.
The reasons may be different but the results
the same. I understand what they are feeling
and do my best to minister to them. I still
have my trials but I know God will get me
through them. I may have left a lot but God
knew He could trust me with His decision to
send me hear with the most faithful husband
in the world. The Lord said He would never
leave me or forsake me and His word is
truth. The women here can be re-assured God
wants me here and that I will be there for
them any time or place they need me. I am a
servant of the Lord. Who could want more?
Your
servant Kathy Eberly
